a. Preparing bid specifications for rotating equipment machinery protection and monitoring instrumentation

b. Retrofitting monitoring instrumentation on existing installations

c. Identifying areas of responsibility for design, installation, and/or maintenance of rotating equipment-monitoring instrumentation

d. Preparing bid specifications for a Continuous Machinery Monitoring System (CMMS)

This Practice describes the following:

a. When continuous on-line monitoring of rotating equipment should be provided

b. Types of monitoring that could be provided and where they are applied

c. Installation considerations specific to type of monitoring equipment

d. General calibration and functional checkout considerations

e. Documentation recommendations
